Newry, ME (December 5, 2013)—The weekend that park-goers have been waiting for is just days away as Sunday River announced recently that it will open the lower two-thirds of its new T72 terrain park trail for ‘First Drop’ on Saturday, December 7, 2013.

“We’ve been able to make a ton more snow than expected and as a result will have built the longest jump line in New England along with a rail park,” Morgan Rudd, Terrain Park Manager for Sunday River Resort, says. “It’s considerable progress and will be a ton of fun to check out this weekend.”

Located on the resort’s North Peak, T72 sits between Sunday River’s Dream Maker and 3D trails and can be access by both the high-speed North Peak Express and Chondola lifts.

To enter T72 this weekend, skiers and snowboarders will use the intersection of the Last Mile trail off of Dream Maker.

Once open top-to-bottom, T72 will be 15 acres of park paradise housing medium-to-large sized features at the entrance, a superpipe and jump line in the middle, and a rail park at the foot of the trail.

A grand opening or ‘Second Drop’ will be announced at a later date once the superpipe and top section of T72 are completed.
