Wrightwood, CA – November 25, 2013:  The price of new gear, transportation, and lift tickets is always on the rise.  Mountain High’s Midweek 8-Hour lift ticket at $59 is still a bargain compared to places such as Whistler Blackcomb ($109 Canadian), Montana’s Big Sky ($99), or Mammoth ($99), but still enough to deter some people from hitting the slopes. While the sport can be expensive, there are plenty of ways to save money.  Here are some ideas:

1. Black Friday, November 29-December 2, 2013
No need to wake up early for these deals.  Purchase discounted tickets to Mountain High for up to 40% off during their Black Friday Special November 29th through December 2nd, 2013.  This is an ONLINE SPECIAL ONLY and tickets must be purchased prior to visiting.  Get the full scoop at http://www.mthigh.com/news/save-40-during-black-friday-special2. Visit SKI DAZZLE, December 5-8, 2013

Holiday Canned Food/Toy Drive, December 9-20, 2013
Mountain High supports the needy each holiday with a canned food and toy drive sponsored by the Society Of Saint Vincent De Paul.  From December 9th to December 20th bring an unwrapped toy or 3 non-perishable food items to Mountain High and receive $10 off a full-priced adult, 8-Hour lift ticket.  Ticket must be purchased at the time of donation.4. 5th Grade Passport
The beauty of the winter mountains is something to be experienced by everyone and that’s why Mountain High has teamed up with Toyota to offer FREE season passes to regional 5th Graders in the 5th Grade Pass Program.   Any 5th Grader from San Diego to Santa Barbara and as far East as Las Vegas is eligible for a FREE season pass valued at $279.  To order your free 5th Grade Season Pass please call (888) 754-7878 Ext 2 or visit the Season Pass office located at Mountain High’s West Resort.  Participants must be between the ages of 9 and 11 as of December 31, 2013, and parents are required to show proof of enrollment (report card, school ID, teacher note, or certified letter of intent.)5. Get a Season Pass
Float the idea that skiing is expensive in a ski area’s marketing office and you’re sure to get this response: Not if you ski more.  That’s the great thing about buying a season pass.  The more you ski, the more you save.  But season passes tether you to a single ski area, you might respond.  This is often true, but season passes at some ski areas now come with access to other ski areas.  A Mountain High VIP Season Pass includes three free days at each of 11 other Powder Alliance areas http://www.powderalliance.com/  including Crested Butte, CO, and Snowbasin, UT.  Adult Anytime Season Pass start at just $349 now through December 20th, 2013.  At this rate they pay for themselves in just 5 visits.  Hardly an insurmountable feat even if you were to only ski once a month.  To maximize your savings, buy your season pass as early as possible.   Many times resorts sell season passes in the spring that are good for the remainder of that year and all of next.6. Learn to Turn Tuesdays
Learn to ski or snowboard at Mountain High this winter and the resort will give you a FREE lift ticket.  That’s right.  Every Tuesday from December through March, receive a FREE adult, 8-hour lift ticket worth $59 when you purchase a discounted rental and lesson package for just $49 (reg $75).  This package include everything a first-timer needs to get started including an all mountain lift ticket, ski or snowboard rentals, and a 1 hour & 45 minute lesson.  Lessons are designed for beginners but can accommodate students looking for a refresher.  This is an ONLINE SPECIAL ONLY and must be purchased at http://www.mthigh.com prior to visiting.7. Be Young
In an industry constantly working to get future generations hooked, it pays to be young.  At Mountain High, Children age 6 and under ski free when accompanied by a paying adult.  The resort also offers a Young Adult ticket to help future rogue scholars satisfy their snow cravings without eating Top Ramen for a week.8.
